With the rise in property prices over the last decades in Paris, Montreuil appealed many young Parisian executives who don’t want to get rid off their Parisian habits, such as profiting from a bistronomic cuisine. Montreuil is about to become like Williamsburg in Brooklyn or Brick Lane in London.
La Cave settled in 2008 in a former chai (a shed where a winemaker stores wine in casks) and this restaurant is perfectly adapted to the taste buds of these new wave of people.
Indeed, La Cave has all the qualities of a great bistronomic restaurant :
-An atypical setting : on sunny days, you can enjoy your meal on a patio which is perched on a tree !
– A Fine cuisine made with simple and quality ingredients.
This is a tiny detail but it can be important for people from Brittany : the butter they serve is from St Malo, from the Buster Master Bordier.
As regards wine and food matching, I have one tip for you: let yourself be recommended by the owners:they are passionate people and know perfectly wine.
This restaurant is worth to cross the Paris ring-road !
If you cross the street, you can reprovision with fine deli at La Petite Cave.
